Shopping
If you are a die hard shopper or just looking for some great bargains, Cordoba is the place to be. It is literally full of shopping areas and some even offer duty-free shopping for international tourists.
There are several shopping malls throughout the city of Cordoba and also open areas for window shopping on the cobblestone streets of the main city. Located around the main San Martin plaza you will find a large area of city blocks that are closed down to automobile traffic and there you will find hundreds of shops to browse.
Souvenir shops are also located in this area where you will find typical argentine products to take home from your journey. On Saturday and Sunday evenings there is an open flea-market near the main canal or “cañada” of the city.
This is a great event not to be missed by any tourist. Here you will find thousands of hand-crafted goods offered by local artists and also an opportunity to bargain with the sellers.
Please be sure to keep your receipt from the duty-free shops and your sales tax will be returned to you when you leave from the international airport.
