Be aware that weekends, especially in summer months, are full of visitors to the sierras and traffic can be heavy. Small buses and vans leave throughout the day from the bus terminals around the city.
HANG-GLIDING in Cuchi Corral
Near “La Cumbre” is “Cuchi Corral”, a place where people practice hang-gliding all year round.
The place houses native trees, like molles and quebrachos (2 typical trees from the area).
This place is a natural wonder, once used by the natives for their religious rituals. Cuchi Corral has become one of the most important flying centers in Argentina. Its climatic and orographic conditions are superb, there more than 400 meters of hills over the Rio Pintos valley, with the “sierras grandes” hills to the west and “sierras chicas” hills to the east, making the gliding possibilities some of the best in the region.The flying experts say that the mountains and the sun in the Cuchi Corral, are great thermal generators (ascending hot airflows) that work like fuel for the gliders. The greater the airflows, the higher the gliders can fly.
This place is chosen by the best pilots of the world, who come to Punilla Valley trying to beat records, improve their style or just enjoy the place, the people and the good flying.
But this freedom sensation is not exclusively for professionals. It can be enjoyed by anyone who dares to experience hangliding. In Cuchi Corral there is a Instructors and professional pilots, who are in charge of taking care of, giving advice and helping everyone who arrive at this place.
This staff is also in charge of doing the “baptism flights”, for people who haven’t got previous experience. In these assisted flights, the passenger sit in a comfortable back-chair while the pilot guides the route, making an unforgettable stroll over the Cuchi Corral landscape. Once in the air, the passenger and the pilot enjoy a beautiful experience that lasts between 20 to 30 minutes. It is also possible to do initiation classes.
After the flight, the tourist can visit other towns closet o Cuchi Corral. One of the most recommended is “La Cumbre”, well-known for its excellent variety of hotels, restaurants and entertainment.
Cuchi Corral is known for its hang-gliding. It is an amazing and beautiful place where the adventure and freedom of spirit contribute to the man’s most inachiveable dream: to fly.

*Parque Nacional QUEBRADA DEL CONDORITO*
It is located in the West of Cordoba, at 1900 and 2300 meters above the sea. The Quebrada del Condorito, a protected area, is a deep canyon with a “V” shape at 800 meters and 1500 meters in its wider part. At the superior edges it is possible to observe the smooth flight of the Andean Condor. This specie, typical of the “Cordillera” (mountain range) has here a population that in the last decade demonstrated its decline due to the elimitaion produced by the farmers. This park was created in 1996. It belongs to the “Chaco seco” eco-region which is composed by a vast plain with a smooth inclination towards the East. Its climate is “subtropical-warm”, with absolute maximum temperatures for the continent. The precipitations in the summer vary between 500 and 700 mm.
ACCESS
You can access the area by the Route #34(Altas cumbers route) between
Carlos Paz and Mina Clavero. The park is located half way along this
route. The access is through the North-East side of the Park (Paraje
La Pampilla) on the Altas Cumbre road (only possible by walking).
There you will find a perfectly indicated 9 kilometer footpath 9 that
leads to the “Northern Ridge” of the Quebrada del Condorito.

3 hours from the Northern ridge access entrance. Panoramic views of the Punilla Valley, Calamuchita Valley and various lakes.

CERRO COLORADO
This reserve is located in the Northern-center of the province occupying a surface of 3000 hectares. On private property.
Flora:
On this reserve different species coexist like “The Mato” with typical species like the “llanura chaqueña”, algarrobo, talas, quebrachos, among others.
Fauna :
There is an ample diversity of species due to the different types of environments: zorrino, corzuela, pecari, puma, zorzal (bird), Carata (bird), Lecchucita del Monte (bird), cabure (bird), Jotes (bird), etc.
Cultural Importance of the Reserve : This reserve has high level of cultural elements since it is one of the most representative places with art from the ancient Cordoba natives.
It has many walls displaying their art manifestations. You can see a lot of figures of Spanish soldiers on their horses.
LOS GIGANTES Hill
Just 30 km away from Tanti is Los Gigantes. At 2374 meters above the sea level, its geological formation is one of the oldest of the country, over 600 million years old. The different hills that compose the place form valleys surrounded by streams, hidden caverns and imposing rock walls.
You can observe and experience these amazing landscapes on horseback, by hiking or with 4x4 vehicles. Due to its geography this place has become one of the most important places for rock climbers and rappel lovers. The hill most visited for these types of sports is called the “Cerro La Cruz” which has a rocky wall approximately 70 meters high.
The winding footpath encourages admiration in each step. The great rocks with their amazing shapes and names lead us towards the higher summits.
“El pollito”, “El Indio”, “el Hornito” and “EL Gorila” are the main attractions in this area. There is a wide variety of fauna that includes small lizards, jotes, eagles, “loicas and remolineras”, even condors, hares, pumas and foxes.
